Healing for Trauma

According to the American Psychological Association “Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event like an accident, rape or natural disaster. Immediately after the event, shock and denial are typical. Longer term reactions include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships and even physical symptoms like headaches or nausea. While these feelings are normal, some people have difficulty moving on with their lives. While trauma certainly can result from a one-time terrible event, trauma can also develop from a series of recurring negative events.  While each event by itself might not be considered “terrible” when the same or similar events continue to occur over time a person can experience developmental trauma.  What both types of trauma have in common is that people can have problems moving on with their lives and can become locked up.  Of course they can continue to survive but living in peace, joy, meaning and productivity becomes limited.

The good news is we can easily restructure those memories and release the negative emotion related to each memory.  The even better news is that we don’t need to talk about the memory in order to heal it.  Using techniques from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) you will learn how to “edit your negative memories” to release those draining emotions that hold you back.
